The project saw a comprehensive refurbishment of Grade II-listed Boland House, formerly the home of Guy’s Hospital. The Gallery was a truly flexible series of spaces to house innovative exhibitions along with a new cafe, restaurant and accessible public square, to create a truly unique space in the heart of central London where the public could learn and discover leading research by King’s College London academics.
Building work began in spring 2016 to transform the space and was opened on in September 2018. In November 2019, Science Gallery London was recognised by Architects' Journal and named best refurb project at the 2019 AJ Architecture Awards. You can find out more about Science Gallery London here
