The Comparative Politics Research Cluster brings together political scientists with a wide range of interests in key political issues, including political institutions, representation and political economy, using a variety of methodologies ranging from quantitative and quasi-experimental methods to qualitative research. The group provides a platform for faculty and PhD students to discuss ongoing work and that of local and international researchers.
Our most current research includes the following areas:
- Electoral integrity.
- Electoral fraud and electoral violence.
- Gender and political representation.
- Religious extremism and social mobilisation in the Middle East.
- Determinants of democracy.
- Political representation and regime stability.
