We are an interdisciplinary team of researchers, educators and clinicians working at the interface of:

  • neurology, psychiatry, psychology and other clinical neurosciences
  • body, brain and mind
  • physical and mental health

Our expanding back catalogue of talks from local and global experts across the breadth of neuropsychiatry can be viewed on our KCL NREG YouTube channel. We have also created this searchable database to find speakers and topics of interest such as this talk presented by Professor Lionel Naccache on ‘Global neuronal workspace theory of consciousness and its applications'.

Research

Our work aims to unravel the complex causes of neuropsychiatric symptoms to improve treatments and outcomes for patients.

Education

We train academics and clinicians working in neuropsychiatry as well as improve public understanding of disorders. We run the largest neuropsychiatry master's course in the world (MSc in Clinical Neuropsychiatry) and other successful and impactful educational initiatives.

We run regular Academic Meetings (see Activity tab). Recordings of our back catalogue of talks can be viewed on our @KCL NREG YouTube channel and there is a searchable database of our talks that can be ordered and searched by date, speaker, title, disorder or topic and includes links directly to all the individual talks.

We are part of, and fully integrated with, the clinical neuropsychiatry service at the South London and Maudsley (SLAM) NHS Foundation Trust consisting of 14 consultant neuropsychiatrists, three consultant neuropsychologists and two consultant neurologists working within multidisciplinary teams. These teams provide a comprehensive range of services for the spectrum of neuropsychiatric conditions nationally as well as to the local populations of South East London as part of King’s Health Partners (KHP).

KHP is the Academic Health Sciences Centre at King’s College London and its three linked health networks of hospitals and services (trusts) in South East London; SLAM, a mental health trust, and two physical health trusts at King’s College Hospitals (KCH) and Guys & St Thomas’ Hospitals trusts (GSTT).

We are based at the Institute of Psychiatry Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) on the Denmark Hill campus of King’s College London in Camberwell, a vibrant area of South East London. We are next to Maudsley Hospital and across the road from the King’s College Hospital which contains a regional neurosciences centre.
