The London Collaborative Ultra-High field System (LoCUS) facility is a collaboration between King's College London, GSTT, University College London, Imperial College, and The Institute of Cancer Research, London, with funding from Wellcome.

The LoCUS facility contains one of only a handful of ultra-field MRI systems for human scanning in the country and is one of only two located inside a hospital. Ultra-high field MRI offers the potential to achieve higher resolution imaging with novel contrast and enhanced spectroscopy capability compared to clinical field strength systems. LoCUS brings together engineers and physicists working to improve the technology, with clinicians treating patients and biomedical scientists investigating changes in the body during child development, ageing, and disease. There is a strong focus on paediatric imaging, including neonates, but the consortium of users spans lifespan research in London (and beyond) with a wide range of projects.
