Evaluation of the OnSide Youth Zone Network
The Policy Institute has been commissioned by the charity OnSide to carry out an impact evaluation of their services. This project seeks to examine the effect of engaging with a Youth Zone in the UK on the educational outcomes of children and young people, including absenteeism, academic attainment, exclusions, and post-learning destinations.
This independent evaluation employs a quasi-experimental design, linking records from young people since the opening of the Youth Zones with administrative datasets, such as the National Pupil Database (NPD), Individualised Learning Records (ILR), and HESA data.
