EMBody - Exploring Mindsets about the Body

Exploring Mindsets about the Body (EMBody) is a new digital tool to support the health and wellbeing of young cancer survivors. Building on pioneering work by Dr Lauren Heathcote, EMBody helps young cancer survivors identify and use ‘mindsets’ that are most helpful for life after finishing cancer treatment.

EMBody was co-created with young cancer survivors, paediatric oncologists with decades of clinical experience, and documentary filmmakers.

We are now conducting a Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) to study the effectiveness of EMBody in young cancer survivors across the UK.

Are you a cancer survivor aged 16-25 years? Interested in testing EMBody? Get in touch at embody-study@kcl.ac.uk to learn more about how you can help with the research.

The study has two objectives:

  1. Assess whether a digital body mindset intervention changes mindsets in childhood cancer survivors aged 16-25.
  2. Assess whether a digital body mindset intervention improves physical and psychological functioning and resilience in childhood cancer survivors aged 16-25.
