The Centre for Telecommunication Research (CTR) was founded in 1994, and has been part of the global ecosystem which has designed and deployed telecommunications technology, from 2G to 5G, and now 6G.
The Centre has become an exciting hub of cutting-edge research and ground-breaking innovation, working with more than 200 collaborators up to today. Underpinned by millions of pounds in public and private funding, we are advancing wireless and optical communications, immersive technologies, tele-healthcare, and innovations in AI and in computing.
