Business Assurance
The Department of Business Assurance sits within the Office of the Chairman & College Secretariat and leads on assurance and compliance processes across the University. Our main functions are:

Information Compliance - handles enquiries under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Environmental Information Regulations, as well as provision of advice and training on compliance issues.

Project Assurance - provides an independent, internal assurance service across the University’s major projects portfolio.

Records Management - provision of records management services to the University to meet legal, regulatory and business record keeping requirements.

Research Assurance - provision of assurance services to the Research and Researcher Function within the University, including subject matter expertise across the research portfolio and support for research governance, compliance, risk management and clinical trials.
- Risk Assurance - responsible for internal audit processes to provide assurance on value for money, risk management and governance functions across the University.
