Mr Vivek Ahuja AKC was appointed to be an independent member of the Council in August 2020.

Vivek is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director at abrdn plc, a global investment company, and an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at PZ Cussons plc, a FTSE250 consumer goods business. He is also and an Independent Non-Executive Director & Chair of Board Risk Committee at NatWest Markets plc (a subsidiary of the NatWest Group).

Prior to this, Vivek was Chief Executive Officer at Terra Firma, a leading European Private Equity Firm. He has also served as the Deputy Group CFO at Standard Chartered plc.

Vivek is a senior business leader with over 30 years experience in global finance and has worked across Asia, the Middle East and Europe with other top-tier financial institutions in a variety of roles spanning finance, strategy and corporate banking. He is also a Non-Executive Director at The Royal Free NHS Trust.

Vivek is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) and has served on the Council and the Financial Services Faculty Board. He is also an Associate of King's College London (AKC).
