
Dr Valtteri Vuorisalo
Visiting Professor in the Department of War Studies
Biography
Dr Valtteri Vuorisalo has over 20 years of experience in the defence industry, spanning international military missions, defence consulting, and academia. He currently drives business in the private sector as both a business owner and subject matter expert. Dr Vuorisalo is a leading expert in the relationship between emerging technologies and security, and is a thought leader in Finnish national security and the geopolitics of technology.
He is a part-time Professor of Practice in National Security and Security Policy at the University of Tampere and brings extensive practitioner and policy insights to this field.
In addition, Dr Vuorisalo is a member of the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications’ high-level working group for digitalisation, the data economy, and new technologies.
He is also an Executive Board Member of the Finnish Information Security Cluster, a Board Member of Finland’s Wartime Economy Society, and has served as a board member for the Scientific Advisory Board for Defence (MATINE) at Finland’s Ministry of Defence.
