Biography
Tony Halmos is a public affairs and communications consultant and has been a Visiting Professor in the Policy Institute at King's since 2015. From 2015-2018 he was Director of the King’s Commission on London, prior to which he was Director of Public Relations at the City of London Corporation, a post he held from 1994. Previously he was Associate Director of Public Affairs at Hill and Knowlton, Press Secretary to the Rt Hon David Steel MP and held various positions within the Social Democratic Party, ending as National Organiser. He was educated at Wadham College, Oxford and the University of Illinois. He was awarded the medal of the Order of the British Empire in the 2017 New Year’s Honours list, for his role in co-ordinating the 800th anniversary commemorations of the signing of the Magna Carta.
