Thomas Ashworth

Biography

Thomas joined the Department of European and International Studies (EIS) in February 2024. Prior to this, he worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, specialising in public communications and Lithuania-United Kingdom diplomatic relations.

Thomas holds an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics (2022), where he wrote his dissertation on the European Union’s enlargement fatigue in the Western Balkans. He also holds a BA in European Studies (German Pathway) from King’s College London (2020).

Doctoral research

Thomas is investigating the role of national myths, historical memory and self-identity in the spread of misinformation within European Union countries.
