Biography
Susan Gilchrist (English, 1987) is Chair, Global Clients, and former CEO of the Brunswick Group, a global advisory firm that helps companies build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
A born and bred Londoner, Susan chose to study at King’s because of her love of the city and the excellent reputation of the English course here. She credits the university with helping propel her into a business career.
Susan worked as retail correspondent for The Times and as a management consultant at Bain & Company before joining Brunswick in 1995. She held senior leadership positions with the firm in Europe and the United States before becoming Group Chief Executive from 2012-2018.
Susan is considered a leader in the communications field internationally. She has been included on PR Week’s Power List multiple times and is among Business Insider’s ‘25 Most Influential People in PR’. She is also a Founding Supporter of the 30% Club, a group devoted to increasing gender balance across organisations and particularly boardrooms.
Susan is married to historian and journalist Andrew Roberts, Visiting Professor at the Department of War Studies. She was awarded a fellowship of King’s in 2014 and her photograph was among those unveiled on the Strand windows in 2018.
