Biography
Steven Jiawei Hai is a PhD candidate in Political Science. His research primarily focuses on the political economy of emerging technology, inclusive innovation, and digital entrepreneurship in China and global techno economies. His work has been published (forthcoming) in the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Global Policy Journal, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Special Report, and LSE IDEAS. He received research grant/award from Universities’ China Committee in London (UCCL), Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) by China in Europe Research Network (CHERN) at European Cooperation in Science & Technology (COST), and teaching development grant from The University of Hong Kong, among others. He was a visiting scholar at Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (2022), and Center for Applied Social and Economic Research (CASER), New York University Shanghai (2021).
Steven obtained his BA in International Politics from the University of International Relations (UIR), Beijing, and MA in International Political Economy from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), Prior to King's, he held academic positions at the Department of Politics and Public Administration, The University of Hong Kong. He is the co-founder and policy director of Fatdoods NFT.
