Biography

Stephen Pratten is a Professor in Economics and Philosophy at King's Business School. Stephen’s primary research area is the methodology and philosophy of economics with a particular focus on issues related to social ontology and realist theorising.

His research also covers topics in the history of economic thought. He teaches on both undergraduate and post graduate programmes and lectures on social science methodology and industrial organisation.

He is a co-editor of the Cambridge Journal of Economics and a Research Associate at the Centre for Business Research. After completing his PhD in the Economics Faculty at the University of Cambridge he became a Research Fellow at the Centre for Business Research before joining King’s College London in 1999.
