Biography
Sophie completed her Midwifery degree in Plymouth and has been a practicing Midwife for 15 years. In her current role as Lead for Maternity Education at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Sophie has gained experience in evolving maternity services training and has completed a master’s degree in medical education. In 2022 Sophie was seconded to work with the East of England maternity regional team, undertaking quality improvement projects and further developing leadership skills. Sophie graduated as a fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management for her work with the national steering group on the development of the Core Competency Framework and National Training Needs Analysis tools, deployed by trusts to support them to implement and evidence training.
Sophie is passionate about education in health care and the important role it plays in improving patient safety.
