Biography
Simon Cleary is a lung biologist with research interests in pulmonary lymphatic vessels and diseases driven by antibodies and the complement cascade. He is also broadly interested in preclinical development of therapeutics for diseases affecting the lungs. Simon was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the Babraham Institute, Cambridge and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). In Mark Looney’s laboratory at UCSF, he identified driver mechanisms of acute lung injury and developed new approaches for imaging lungs, winning research support from the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies and the American Society for Transplantation. He was appointed as a Lecturer at King’s College London in 2024.
