Biography

Dr Mehta is the Programme Director for the MSc in Aesthetic Dentistry and has been teaching at King’s College London since 2006.

Dr Mehta graduated Dentistry with Distinction from King’s College London (1996), having also attained a BSc in Biomedical Sciences in 1993 (First Class Honours), a Masters in Clinical Dentistry with Distinction in Prosthodontics (2005) and Doctorate Degree from Radboud University Medical Center, The Netherlands (Medical Sciences, Tooth wear, 2021). He holds Fellowships with, the FGDP UK/ CGDent, the Royal College of Surgeons & Physicians (Glasgow), the Royal College of Surgeons (England), the Faculty of Dental Trainers, Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and with Advance HE.

Dr Mehta is the Senior Clinical Advisor to the General Dental Council (GDC, Fitness to Practise) where he manages the Clinical Dental Advisory Team, a Visiting Professor (PhD supervisor) at RadboudUMC, Chair of the Careers Pathways Reference Group – College of General Dentistry, and Editorial Director of the Aesthetic Update. He has published numerous peer reviewed publications, including research on Tooth Wear. Dr Mehta has also co-authored/ co-edited two textbooks, on Tooth Wear and Aesthetic Dentistry, written several book chapters and is a panel member for the European Expert Consensus Panel on Severe Tooth Wear. He has lectured at several conferences, in the UK and internationally.
