Seohyun Jung

PhD Researcher

Biography

Seohyun Jung is a second-year Ph.D. student in Human Resource Management at the King’s College London. She holds a Master's degree in International Social Policy from the University of Kent and a Bachelor's degree in Social Welfare. Prior to pursuing her PhD, Seohyun worked as an expert advisor for the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare. Seohyun's research focuses on the examination of diverse labour market patterns and outcomes across European welfare states and South Korea. Her primary interest lies in investigating gender inequalities within the labour market and domestic sphere. She aims to understand the role of different institutional and cultural contexts, such as labour market flexibility, work culture, and gender ideologies, in shaping these relationships. Her current project examines how working time patterns of Korean dual-earner couples impact the division of domestic work, emphasising multidimensional working conditions like non-standard work schedules and flexible working.
