Completing her primary education in Cornwall, UK, Sarah emigrated to Australia and completed her undergraduate studies and PhD in Anthropology at Adelaide University, centring on Anthrozoology and Disability.

In 2017 she accepted a Post-Doc Research Fellowship position at King’s and returned to the UK. Since then she has focussed on disabled and other vulnerable groups. More specifically, she has highlighted the importance of focussing on those living in the community experiencing dementia.
