Biography
Sarah Amadio is a native French speaker with a strong academic and professional background in language teaching and cultural administration. She holds two master’s degrees from the Sorbonne University: one in Teaching French as a Foreign Language and another in French Literature. She also completed a BA in Cultural Administration and Local Development Project Management at Montpellier University.
She enjoys promoting Francophone culture and uses her international experience to make learning French both engaging and meaningful, helping students connect with the rich cultural, historical, and social contexts of the Francophone world.
Before joining King’s College London in January 2020, Sarah taught French to a wide range of learners, from university students at institutions like Oxford University to language school attendees at Alliances Françaises, as well as within the French national education system.
Scholarly Activity
Her scholarly interests include gamification in education and digital pedagogy, with a project involving the use of AI-generated images to engage students in a creative writing initiative, promoting intercultural understanding and decompartilising. She also explores how AI can enhance teaching methods and assessment practices. Additionally, she focuses on developing French studies for specialised fields, such as medical and humanitarian contexts, ensuring learners acquire practical and context-specific linguistic skills.
