Dr Samuel Cahill is a Lecturer in Chemistry Education in the Department of Chemistry, King’s College London.
Samuel graduated with an MSci in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge in 2013 before completing a DPhil in Chemistry under the supervision of Professor Christopher Schofield at the University of Oxford. During this period, he became increasingly interested in teaching, both in classes for undergraduates and in training new research members.
From 2017 Samuel worked as a Lecturer in Practical Chemistry and a Stipendiary Lecturer in Physical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Christ Church College, University of Oxford, where he played a role in constructing their new integrated undergraduate practical course.
Samuel was appointed to his role at King’s to support teaching of physical chemistry in the undergraduate course. He is particularly interested in methods to make physical chemistry more accessible and creating coding exercises for chemistry to introduce this increasingly important transferrable skill.
