Senior Technician (Education)

Biography

Sam is a Senior Technician in the Department of Chemistry, King’s College London.

In this role he is responsible for the preparation and day-to-day running of practical sessions across both the undergraduate Chemistry and Natural Sciences programmes.

Prior to this, Sam has worked in technical roles at Queen Mary University of London and the University of East London, as well as within the additive manufacturing and coatings industry as an R&D Chemist.  

Sam holds a BSc in Chemistry from Imperial College London and is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC).

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and running undergraduate practical sessions 
  • Providing technical support across the Chemistry teaching laboratories in the Franklin-Wilkins Building
  • Supporting outreach activities within the department
  • Supporting laboratory sustainability in accordance with LEAF Gold standards
