Biography
Sallie Barnes brings extensive experience in project management to her role at the Policy Institute. Before working at the Policy Institute, she worked predominantly in the VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) sector. Here she developed a strong feminist ethos and a love for building in systems and structures to help strengthen services & support front line staff.
In her role at King’s, Sallie is project managing the Use of Research Methods Repository, a resource for the URE community to collaborate and share tools in this field. Her commitment to democratising research and bridging the gaps between academia and practice drives how this work is shaped.
Outside of her work at the Policy Institute, Sallie is studying a Master’s degree in Geographic Data Science. She hopes that by understanding the role that ‘place’ has in determining outcomes for people, we will be able to unpick (and tackle) the big questions in the world.
