Research
Thesis Title - "ESG and International Relations: A Corporate Global Governance Analyses under Corporate Social Responsibility"
The research investigates the role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in global corporate governance within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It aims to understand if ESG can drive private global governance and address environmental and social issues internationally. The research takes a qualitative approach, including a literature review and content analysis, to explore the emergence of CSR, the challenges governments and civil society face in advancing the ESG agenda, and the reasons behind a country's decision to adopt this corporate governance framework. The study also examines how Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL) justify the constraints of global governance due to the lack of participatory action among different actors. This research emphasizes the importance of states complying with ESG requirements for transparency and performance to remain competitive regarding foreign investments, domestic development, and adherence to international treaties and agreements. The study intersects the fields of International Relations, Administration/Finance, and International Law.
