Biography
Ruowen Xu is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at King's Business School. Ruowen works with Professor Alexandru Preda and Dr Julie Valk on the ESRC project ‘Professional Hybridisations and Epistemic Practices of Cryptocapital: An Ethnographic Investigation of Cryptoasset Firms’.
Ruowen obtained her PhD degree at Warwick Business School, United Kingdom. Her research studies credit rating systems and more specifically, looks at how a new form of modelling work in big data and machine learning technology is being adapted to form credit scoring algorithms. Drawing on inter-disciplinary insights, combining sociology and organizational theory, she investigates the social construction of big data and more broadly AI technology, and their outcome in auditing consumers in the marketplace.
