Biography

Rosamund Scott is Professor of Medical Law and Ethics, and Director of the Centre of Medical Law and Ethics in the Dickson Poon School of Law. She joined the Centre as a Lecturer in 1998, became Reader in Law in 2005, Professor of Medical Law and Ethics in 2007, Co-Director of the Centre in 2013, and Director in 2020. She studied Philosophy at the Australian National University, Canberra, where she was awarded the Quentin Gibson Prize for Philosophy, followed by Law at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. After qualifying as a barrister she undertook a PhD in an area of reproductive law and ethics at King’s. She received a number of scholarships and awards during these studies.

Rosamund Scott's research interests centre on reproductive ethics and law, an area in which she has published a wide range of articles and books.
