Biography
Dr Romas Malevicius is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Marketing at King’s Business School. Romas is a digital artist passionate about marketing, branding, and sustainability. He has been working with businesses, social enterprises and non-governmental organisations as a sustainability and marketing consultant and mentor.
Romas is Learning Design and ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) (in collaboration with UNESCO IESALC) Bootcamp steering committee member and associate trustee at EAUC (The Alliance for Sustainability Leadership and Education). He also worked with various charities and raised funds for Salford Food Bank, Sleepout Manchester and McMillan’s charity.
Romas is education for sustainability expert and has published in the academic journal ‘Culture and Organization’. Additionally, Romas has published book chapters in the context of sustainability initiatives and student engagement in ‘Sustainable Development at Universities: New Horizons’ (Peter Lang) and Education for Sustainability in Management Education in ‘Multidimensional Approach to International Business and Models for Global Purpose-Driven Companies’ (IGI Global).
Romas' teaching and pedagogic approaches have been featured in NUS/EAUC report in 2019 titled ‘Better Student Outcomes Through Sustainability Guide’, and in 2021 the case study was selected as a part of a collection of practice guides to support Education for Sustainable Development in Higher Education curated by Advance HE and QAA. Romas is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
At King's College London, Romas teaches International Marketing and Marketing the Experience Economy and supervises postgraduate dissertation projects.
Romas’s work on teaching practice and sustainability is recognised through various awards and recognitions. He has been ratified by two Vice-Chancellor’s Awards in 2011 and 2018 (at Anglia Ruskin University and the University of Salford). He has been shortlisted for Vice-Chancellor’s Outstanding Alumni Awards 2018 at Anglia Ruskin University in Alumni Service to Society category. Based on work with communities, students and staff at Anglia Ruskin University and the University of Salford, Romas entered Green Gown Awards UK & Ireland Final twice in 2013 and 2018.
