Dr Renée Aleong
Biography
Renée Aleong is a member of the Workforce Panel of the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health & Social Care Workforce, King's College London.
Dr Renée Aleong brings a wide range of experience and a diverse skill set to the NIHR Health & Social Care Workforce Panel, underpinned by hands-on expertise in research, regulation, stakeholder engagement and policy development. As a registered social worker, she has gained valuable strategic and operational insights into workforce challenges across various health and social care settings.
Renée holds a PhD in Social Policy and Social Work from the University of York, funded by the ESRC. Her doctoral research examines the impact of mental health policies on racialised and marginalised communities, providing a strong foundation for her contributions to evidence-based research for workforce development and policy-making.
Renée is dedicated to bridging the gap between research and practice, ensuring that workforce policies are informed by real-world experience. Her research and practice interests focus on addressing workforce challenges, offering a critical perspective, and promoting diversity in research. Renée’s work aims to improve outcomes for both professionals and the wider public by driving sustainable, long-term improvements across health and social care.
