Biography
Neus is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing Education within the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery, and Palliative Care at King's College London. Neus brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role with expertise in teaching Nursing fundamentals, perioperative practice, and simulation and immersive technologies.
After obtaining her Registered Nurse qualification in 2004, Neus gained valuable experience in Accident Emergency, surgical wards and eventually specialising in the operative field. Throughout her career, Neus has held pivotal clinical leadership and managerial positions within elective and emergency operating theatres, where she played a key role in ensuring policy compliance and leading successful service improvement projects.
In 2017, Neus made the transition to the higher education sector, assuming the roles of Nurse academic and Higher Education Fellow. Leveraging her comprehensive clinical expertise and Masters in Anaesthetics and Recovery, Neus offers invaluable input to the institution and support to nursing students throughout their academic journey. Her deep understanding of pre- and post-nursing programs, combined with a keen interest in innovative practices, has enabled her to seamlessly integrate cutting-edge technological learning tools into the nursing curriculum, creating contemporary and engaging educational experiences.
Neus is currently dedicated to advancing research in two key areas within her portfolio. Firstly, she is deeply involved in investigating human factors and team dynamics within the perioperative field, aiming to better understand the intricacies of teamwork and how they impact patient outcomes in surgical settings. Secondly, Neus is committed to exploring the efficacy of Virtual Reality Simulations in healthcare education and delving into students' experiences with this innovative technology.
