Biography
Mubashara Akhtar is a PhD student in the Department of Informatics. She obtained her undergraduate and master's degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Vienna (TU Wien). Before joining King's College London, she was a graduate research fellow and teaching assistant at TU Wien and worked as a software developer and data scientist in industry.
Her research is related to multi-modal approaches for fact checking, where she aims to use structured and unstructured data to validate facts. She is interested in multi-modal and graph based approaches to NLP problems in general. Mubashara's research is supported by an NMS faculty studentship.
