Biography
Momo Alverson is a PhD candidate in the Department of Engineering, King’s College London.
They work with local prosthetists and amputees in Sri Lanka to co-design sustainable prosthetic solutions for end-users. Their research focuses on farming-specific solutions, to ensure amputees can continue pursuing work that is fulfilling to them, without worrying about the durability or performance of their prosthetic device.
Prior to starting their PhD at Kings, Momo worked as a Research and Development Intern for Adaract, a US based company that is revolutionising artificial muscle actuation.
Momo holds both a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and, a Bachelor’s of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Washington.
