Biography

Markus Hardtmann studied for a M.A. in German Literature, Philosophy and Psychology at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, Germany and continued his studies as a Harper and Schmidt Fellow at the University of Chicago in the United States, before moving to London. He has more than ten years of experience in teaching German and joined King’s College London in 2018. As a teacher, Markus seeks to communicate his enthusiasm in the fields of language, literature, and culture. His courses typically include a wide range of authentic materials, which he tailors to the academic and professional interests of his students. Recent courses included units on the photography of the Düsseldorf school,  the music of Bach and Kraftwerk, and the shoes of Franz Beckenbauer.
