Biography

Mariam joined King's College London in September 2023 as a London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Programme (LISS-DTP) and Cicely Saunders International PhD Training Fellow. Her research, conducted alongside the Cicely Saunders Institute, focuses on the experiences of bereaved individuals from refugee, migrant, and asylum seeker communities in the UK. Through this research, Mariam aims to develop valuable resources in collaboration with local communities to improve access to bereavement support services and enhance mental health literacy.

Mariam graduated with a first-class honours degree in Biomedical Science, and has earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Imperial College London.
