Biography

I am a cellular immunologist whose work is focusing on assessing the function and pre-clinical development of T-cell receptor targeting monoclonal antibodies. The αβ T cell receptor (TCR) has immense diversity, primarily for peptide-MHC complexes that clonally interact with complementarity-determining region (CDR)3 motifs assembled by quasi-random somatic gene rearrangement of TCRα and TCRβ gene segments. Currently we are investigating the potential impact of non-clonally engaging αβ TCRs using antibodies specific for a discrete human variable β (Vβ) region. We are specifically focusing on unique ‘central memory-like’ phenotypes arising post-stimulation with these novel reagents.

T cells and antibodies 780x450
Hayday Laboratory

We investigate how tissue integrity is maintained and restored by T lymphocytes resident within sites such as skin, gut, and reproductive tract.
