Biography
Kathryn has a background in health psychology, behavioural science, applied health services research, intervention development/re-design, process evaluation, outcome assessment, and evidence synthesis. She obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology from Leeds University, an MSc in Health Psychology from The University of Derby and a PhD in Health Sciences from Warwick Medical School. She has over 15 years of experience studying and working in diabetes research, and with both qualitative and quantitative research methodology. Her passion lies in endeavouring to help people with diabetes improve their self-management and well-being, in particular via the development, evaluation and implementation of patient-reported outcome measures and theory-driven, evidence-based interventions. She is currently working on research studies in this area within the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care.

We are experimental medicine researchers and clinical academics performing mechanistic and clinical studies, using qualitative, quantitative and neuroimaging techniques, and clinical trials to investigate aspects of diabetes, including mechanisms and treatment of hypoglycaemia, eating disorders and appetite control.
