Biography
Research title: Essays in Empirical Macroeconomics under Periods of Uncertainty

Juan Rufino Reyes is a PhD student in Economics at King's Business School. His research focuses on empirical macroeconomics during periods of uncertainty, examining how economic turbulence impacts the broader economy. He applies time series methods and Bayesian econometrics to improve macroeconomic policy analysis and forecasting, with a focus on central banking and monetary policy.
Before pursuing his PhD, Juan was a Senior Economist at the Central Bank of the Philippines. He earned a Master of Public Policy from the University of Tokyo as a Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) Scholar. Additionally, he holds an MA in Development Policy and a BSc in Business Economics. He is a recipient of the King’s Business School–Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (KBS-ESCoE) Studentship.
