Biography
Jonas Langner joined the King's Language Centre in 2018 as Team Leader. Prior to his appointment at King’s College London, Jonas had taught German for over 10 years at the University of Bristol starting in 2007 as the DAAD-Lektor and then being promoted to Language Director in 2011. Jonas completed his 1st state exam for teachers of English and German at grammar schools in 2007 at the Martin-Luther-Universität in Halle-Wittenberg. He also holds a certificate for “Teaching German as a Foreign Language”. Jonas is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has a Postgraduate Certificate in Research and Professional Studies in Education. He actively follows pedagogical developments in language teaching in the UK and Germany through regular conference participation and organisation. Jonas is particularly interested in technology-enhanced learning and mediation as an alternative to translation in foreign language teaching.
