Biography
Joe is the Senior REF & KEF Officer in the RMID REF, KEF, and Research Impact team. He leads and supports with data collection processes for the Higher Education Business and Community Interaction Survey (HE-BCI), Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF), and Research Excellence Framework (REF). With Ceri Margerison (Director of REF, KEF and Research Impact), Joe leads the HESA Staff return for REF, and supports with college-wide preparations for the upcoming REF2029 submission. He provides training, data analysis, and support to ensure that faculty-wide submissions are supported centrally.
Joe joined King’s in June 2023 from the University of Kent, where he held both Knowledge Exchange roles and completed his PhD in Philosophy. His research concerns philosophical understandings of work, and he is a member of an Evidential Pluralism research group at the University of Kent on the philosophy of evaluation, which engages policy and governmental agencies to improve the evaluation of policy interventions.
