Biography
As Associate Director (Student Careers Engagement), Gya leads the strategic planning, development and oversight of our work to enhance our engagement with our service users supporting students, researchers and alumni to access information, advice and content assisting their career journey.
She provides leadership to the following teams:
- Student Engagement, Communications & Enquiries
- Digital Learning & Systems
- King's Edge
The team work hard to address the sector-wide and institutional factors and barriers that contribute to differences in careers progression amongst students from under-represented backgrounds. Gya deputises for the Senior Associate Director (Careers & Employability).
Passionate about equality, diversity & inclusion as well as widening participation, Gya sits on various committees across the College, including the King’s Race Equality Charter Mark writing group.; working alongside students, academics, and various professional services colleagues to review how the lived experiences of historically underrepresented groups is affected by structural inequality.
