Biography
Dr Giskin Day originally trained as botanist in South Africa, and subsequently worked in publishing and at the Science Museum before joining Imperial College London to develop humanities teaching in this STEMM environment. She is course director for the intercalated BSc in Medical Sciences with Humanities, Philosophy & Law at Imperial College School of Medicine. Giskin was awarded the Imperial College President's Medal for outstanding contribution to teaching in 2015. Giskin was made a National Teaching Fellow in 2016 and is a co-recipient of Advance HE's Collaborative Award for Excellence in Teaching awarded in 2024 to the core team for the Association of Playful Learning. Giskin completed her PhD studies at King’s College London in 2023 with a thesis on gratitude in healthcare.
