Biography
Dr Ghita Berrada is a visiting lecturer in Health Informatics within the Department of Population Health Sciences, School of Population Health & Environmental Sciences. She also held an honorary appointment at the School of Health Sciences, Division of Informatics, Imaging & Data Sciences of the University of Manchester and was previously a Research Associate in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh.
Her research is broadly concerned with decision support systems (DSS), particularly for healthcare and computer security applications. The questions her research revolves around include the following:
- How do you best design a DSS based on highly unbalanced, uncertain and barely annotated data?
- Does provenance make for better DSS design and how do we factor in provenance in decision support systems?
- How do you make a DSS explainable and ethical by design?
