Interim Director of Research Sustainability

Biography

Francis Wilson is Interim Director of Research Sustainability: Improving Revenue. The role works across both academic Faculties and the Research Management and Innovation Directorate to lead the research sustainability agenda, focused on financial sustainability.

Francis is an experienced research management professional with over 15 years at King’s College London.

Prior to this role, Francis worked in Post-Award, providing operational leadership for teams managing UK research funding, international/EU research funding, studentship funding, and fee-for-service and advisory consultancy. Francis continues to support Post-Award activities for 20% FTE whilst in the interim role.

Francis career began at Cancer Research UK working in the finance team there, before joining King’s in 2008.

Francis has an MA in International Relations from University of Reading and completed a CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Dip MA) in 2019 whilst at King’s.

Francis is also a member of the Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA) Mentoring Working Group.
