Biography
I graduated from the medical school of the University of Athens, Greece and then moved to the UK in 2004 to continue my training in paediatrics. In the UK, I specialised and gained a CCT in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, having trained in Great Ormond Street Hospital and King's College Hospital with a particular focus in paediatric hepatology and nutrition. In 2021 I joined King's College London as a Clinical Senior Lecturer in paediatric Hepatology. My resreach interests involve studying the effects of liver disease on metabolism, body composition and nutrition of children with acute or chronic liver disease. My aim is to describe the mechanisms underlying these effects and identify novel target/ pathways for therapeutic intervention with an ultimate goal to improve longer term outcomes for children with liver disease.
