David Winskill
PCIE Advisory Group member
Biography
David Winskill is a member of the Public Contributor Involvement and Engagement Advisory Group of the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce.
David Winskill is a north Londoner through and through: he’s lived, worked and played in Haringey nearly all his life.
Following a career in health and pharma PR, he served as a councillor representing the Crouch End Ward from 2002 to 2014.
During that time, he became interested in health and social care and, especially, the drivers of health inequalities and outcomes. In 2015 he became chair of London Patient Voice (an NHS London assurance group) and an advocate of the crucial role that patients, carers and communities can have in improving access, design and delivery of services and structures.
More recently, David has been contributed to several NHS groups:
- Specialised Commissioning PV AG
- Integrated Systems Evaluation and Metrics Working Group
- NHS England Quality Committee
- NHS PPG Champions Group
- NHS PPV Public Advisors Group.
He continues to be involved in his GP’s PPG as well as his local Healthwatch.
Away from health, he writes arts and music reviews, is a keen photographer and a cricket nut.
David joined the Group in 2024.
