Biography
Lord David Willetts is a Conservative Party politician, life peer, and academic and is currently Executive Chair of the Resolution Foundation. From 1992 to 2015, he was the MP for Havant, becoming Minister of State for Universities and Science from 2010 until 2014. Before that David worked at the Treasury and the Number 10 Policy Unit and served as Paymaster General in the last Conservative Government. Willetts became a member of the House of Lords in 2015. He is Governor of the Ditchley Foundation, a member of the Council of the Institute for Fiscal Studies and an Honorary Fellow of Nuffield College, Oxford. Lord Willetts has written widely on economic and social policy. His book The Pinch was published in 2010 and his most recent book A University Education came out in November 2017.
