Dr Cyrus Golding joined King's as a Visiting Tutor in 2020. He holds a DPhil (ESRC funded), MSc and MA in Geography from the University of Oxford. He also holds a PGCE (Geography) from the University of Cambridge. Cyrus is a cultural and environmental geographer by training. His research draws on a combination of science studies, more-than-human geography and new materialist approaches.

Prior to joining King's, his research at Oxford explored everyday ways of living with natural hazards that exceed the remit of official practices of hazard management. His academic interests at the School of Education, Communication & Society lie in the affective dimensions of geography education and the ends to which affect is and can be mobilised. He also teaches Geography in London schools. Cyrus is the Editor-in-Chief of Routes, the world's first journal dedicated to publishing student research from A-level and undergraduate geographers.
