Clare is responsible for the leadership and management of department operations to ensure a high quality, professional administrative service and the efficient day-to-day running of the department. She is a member, ex officio, of all departmental committees to ensure standardisation of information. Her role includes:

• Working closely with the Associate Director: Departmental Operations, Head of Department and departmental professional services staff to agree and implement standards for departmental and programme administration
• Ensuring administrative support for all departmental activities
• Leading, managing and developing the Engineering professional services team
• Developing strategies and initiatives to improve support to Head of Department, academic staff and students
• Ensuring a robust department level infrastructure for teaching and research
• Ensuring the effective running of operations in conjunction with central services.
• Providing advice and assistance to ensure effective completion and compliance with regulations and policy
