Clara Belessiotis-Richards

Biography
Clara is a specialist registrar in Old Age Psychiatry and a Wellcome Doctoral Clinical Research Fellow with an interest in dementia, neuroimaging, epidemiology, and big data. Her work focusses on analyzing neurobiological data within large-scale epidemiological datasets to investigate brain structure and pathology in relation to population health factors. She joined King’s College London in 2024 from University College London (UCL). She is currently undertaking a study combining neuroimaging analytics and epidemiology to understand normal pressure hydrocephalus in memory services. Previously, Clara was an Academic Clinical Fellow at UCL from 2019 until 2024, under the supervision of Professor Gill Livingston. During this time, she completed a MSc Epidemiology (Distinction) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She holds a MBBS (Distinction) from Kings’ College London, a BSc (Hons) from UCL, and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). She has worked in Zambia and the USA. She has been awarded international (RCPsych President’s Prize 2019) and national (Association of British Neurologists Undergraduate Prize 2012) prizes.
