Biography
Christina Missirli is the Senior Technical Manager for Operations in the Department of Physics at King's College London. Christina is an engineering graduate with a BEng in Communication Systems Engineering and an MSc in Broadband and Mobile Communication Networks, both from the University of Kent.
In her current role, Christina and her team have overall responsibility for technical support and supervision of the physics research labs at the Strand campus, including health and safety and campus projects. Christina also plays a key role in supporting the designs, preparations, and establishment of research activities in the new King's Interdisciplinary Science (KIS) labs.
Christina is the biological, laser and radiation protection supervisor, mental first aid, and display screen equipment assessor for the Department of Physics.
Responsibilities
- Managing the physics technical operations team
- Facilitating the smooth running of research operations in the Strand Physics labs
- Managing H&S matters and fire safety of the Strand Physics labs
- Biological, Laser and radiation protection supervisor of the department
- Advising on H&S compliance
- Contributing to the design/refurbishment of laboratories within the department
- Overseeing Physics space and infrastructure projects
